We are not part of the Milky Way, yet. The Milky way is still eating the Saggitarius galaxy, which our solar system is part of. Speculation is extremely interesting concerning what happens when our solar system finally becomes fully integrated with the Milky Way.

Isn’t the Milky Way in fact not already “eating” the Saggitarius Dwarf Elliptical Galaxy? I’ve also read claims that our solar system may not be native to the Milky Way, is there any truth to this?
